How many kids is enough?

Just how many kids is enough and the ideal numbered for an ordinary family. I am not talking about special privilege family or those obscenely wealthy but your average Joe. Some said 2 is nice, while others said 3 is a better number. I am not too sure myself. Ideally I would opt for 3 if I have the means financially and emotionally to be able to cope with the huge amount of see saw in life. It really takes the energy and the life out of you to be able to keep yourself up to pace with the kids. I just can't imagine those who are having half-a-dozen or at least above 4. How do they cope? Do they pay attention to their kids equally or 1 out of ppm would have defect as the proven theoretically theory. Just look around. I don't mean to say u have 1 million kids but the more quantity you have the more likely hood that there is a mutation or some kind of reduce quality.

So the big question now is, 2 or 3 or 4 is the right numbered? My first thought on this is if wifey and I have another kid, then our cute little prince will no longer be the little adorable boy he is now. He will be superseded and hence there could be lack of attention and negligence on our part. Let's face it, the youngest kid in the family tend to be pamper more than the older kids. It's always nice to be the youngest and getting all the attention and love of the parents. It's a whole different ball game for the youngest. I just can't imagine how the kids are going to interact with each other and etc. I know that kids are very versatile and naive. Nevertheless, having a little brother or sister does change the way they behave. Whether it's a big or a small changed only.

Here is what is commonly blown around by couples who are planning for a family

1.      One child is too little. There will be lots of problem for the kids and parents. Selfish, loneliness, interaction with other kids and also over pampered. Likelihood of raising a spoilt brat is very high.

2.      Two will be good. A nice numbered but then its just maintaining the status quote of Chinese community. Not growing the minority population. If 1 kid is male and the other female, then when they grow up, there will be some distance and lack of closeness. Worst of all, if either kid moved away from the family to live on their own or with gf or in-law (the trend of 21st century) then it doesn't make any difference. Quiet and lack of family atmosphere especially during festival.

3.      Three would be a nice numbered but then there is the financial constraint and the issue of whether quality will be compromise. This will increase work load, freedom, time and lastly physically and mentally draining.

4.      Four will be over doing it. Mutation and defect is bound to occur. Out of 3 kids, 1 child is bound to be neglected and falls into the trap of "special" ones. It will be like a mini team having 24hrs party everyday at home. Total loss of peace and tranquility.

There you have it. How many are you planning to have?

Fresh grad out of the box

My company just recently took in lots of new guy. All are fresh face and naïve. Nevertheless, as with any new fresh faces I usually don't pay any attention nor give any thought about it. However, recently there is this IPOH guy that kinds of stick out like a torn in the roses compare to others. I just have to have a dig at him. I understand the pressure and the feeling to be a new guy in a new company….that fear, that nervousness, that scary feeling of being outnumbered and all eye staring at you. The feeling of being in a beauty pageant. Every eye is focusing on you. However, what I am astounded and stun was his mentality. The only way I could describe him is that he has a big well built body and an average looking face but a pea size brain. Therefore, after listening to his so called introduction of himself speech, I felt awkward. Awkward is an understatement. I feel embarrassed and I had goose bum all over my body.

The reason I feel a little bit embarrassed is because I never knew there are people out there who doesn't have self consciousness and are always trying to be outstanding. Unfortunately he doesn't realize though he was trying to be funny, but the jokes are not funny at all. It was like you are watching a B grade performance or the AFHV (America Funniest Home Video). It was totally out of line and inappropriate. He was asked to stand out and tell everybody (including MD's and top management) his name and introduced a little bit about himself. He deviated and talk about things which aren't appropriate like ……..Hi, my name is Eddie. You can call me Eddie or whatever. Then he elaborated on the "Whatever" meaning in a long winding speech and try to be funny and cool at the same time. If he had pull it off with flying colours then I would had gave him a clap and a pat on the back. But no, he ask the audience a direct question ………..what's so funny……..while giving a giggle and a smile.

The best part is I realize that in the society and the population I am working in, 80% of the population and society are having a pea brain. Nobody realizes it and on most parts, everybody else just goes along without a blink or self conscience. This make me feel and sense that I am alone in this world. My thoughts are so much different from the majority of my colleague. Perhaps it is coincidence or it isn't but what I know is that all of them are conservative Chinese educated. It's really weird I tell you. It's really weird the world we are living in. Perhaps the defect rate/ratio in this world is very high. To maintain our eco system in equilibrium, we needed high defect ratio and weird things to occur. If everything else is just as perfect as what we perceive it to be then chaos will occur.

From all that I had said, I still get lots of goose bump whenever some new fresh faces give some unconventional introduction. It scares the hell out of me.

Tattoo

Use to be a brotherhood symbol strongly associated with triad, gangsterism and ex-prisoner. For a time it was consider a status symbol for triad leader. Dragons, phoenix and all things nasty and evil were tattooed on the whole body. Every single exposed skin was not spared. The more tattoo you have the more fearless you are. It uses to have so much meaning. Commoner are always afraid of meeting people with tattoo. Cops will pull off anyone with body tattoo to check them physically on the street. Cops can identify ex-prosoner or triad member easily just by looking at their body tattoo and to find out which group they are from.

Now, moving forward after many years, tattoo are no longer associated with all the above. Now kids, teenager and even curious adult are having the tattoo embed onto their arms, shoulder, body and backside just for the fun of it. It is no longer shun upon but admire as a body art and it is cool to be assoiciated with any tattoo. Some are very tastefully done with great skills and meticulously while others are cheapskate and shabby.

Recently, I joined my wifey to watched a Taiwanese comedy series and there was this hunk (u know how all women drool over them) who has very good physique and therefore with the addition of an arm tattoo, it really looks cool. So as I was thinking about the tattoo on his arm, it hit me that the symbol and representation tattoo has over societies has evolve tremendously. Many celebrities are actually giving the tattoo craze some free marketing and promotion. Since these very celebrities are idolized by thousand and thousand of fans, sooner or later they will follow what their idol does. Hence, the transition of tattoo being associated with bad boy image to cool and hip is really remarkable. In the present environment, tattoo is now being promoted from craze to fine arts. More and more people are going for tattoo and with special graphics and images. I find women having a tattoo near their navel, their back/shoulder or around their backside as very sexy. It really turns me on.

Nevertheless, there is always a risk factor there. This tattooing craze will go off just a matter of time. In addition, it does look cool to have one on the back when you are young but what happens when you get older. Freckles, wrinkles and etc will look bad on those tattoos. Think about it.

Blogger sphere

I read somewhere last week on somebody's opinion with regard to blog advertising. Actually with the entire blogger sphere booming and exploding vertically it is no wonder that the only winner here is the hosting company. Lots of people now are writing articles or rubbish in the hope that they get paid by PPP, Google-Adsense and etc. Blogger places advertisement everywhere in their blog and hope that reader would accidentally click on it. The objective of this tactic is to capture your first impression and your attention. Once your attention is capture, your curiosity and your imagination will lead you to further detail. Most importantly with this new technique, advertiser hopes to make a lasting impression and hope that you will come again to check out more details. What started out as a great idea and purely innocent has took a turn of event. Blog advertisement use to be operated by great minds and creative people are now taken over by unscrupulous and money minded scammers. Yeap, scammers who will email you with loads of ad, deface your site, hijacking your site and etc.

It's common knowledge that if there is a good scheme, sooner or later it would be twisted and turns to become money spinning blood sucker. People always take things for granted no matter what. I can see where all this are heading towards. It's written in the sky.

Just for instance, throughout many years of my surfing, I found that many of the blogs that I frequented are beginning to vanish and disappear from the world completely. It's difficult to maintain a blog. It takes time, money and a good theme to really keep readers coming back day after day. Some started out talking about sex, relationship and etc but then after a year or two fizzle out and ran out of topic. Keeping your blog interesting, fresh and dynamic is very very hard. So far I have only seen a handful out of the many thousand that exist. To me time is a major factor. My observation is that many of this so called bloggers are teenagers and young adult who are single and have plenty of free time on hand. Once they get married and moved up through the many stages of life, time will be like a diamond to all. Precious and rare.

In addition, you can't keep expecting yourself to write explicit sex stuff. It will get bored and stale. Therefore blogs that focus entirely on those sex, explicit stuff will vanishes faster than a bullet. The good sites are usually very well balance and talks about their life, experiences or politics. Come to think of it, for me I think blogging is like writing a diary. It has more personal touch and not so commercialize. I don't work for the money but writing just merely to share thoughts and receive different of opinion. I don't feel obligated to come out with a fantastic article or topic to write about everyday. I don't need to write what the advertiser asks me to. Writing a blog/diary is something like a journalist trying to write a good article from his/her opinion. It improves on your English, your writing style and the overall intellectual mind of a person.

Therefore, if you still see a site standing strong after more than 5 years, I got to say it's a great site and a great blogger. It only takes 2-3 years to know and to separate between the boys with the men .

The world is FAKE

Just give a deep thought on the above subject. Are we all rally living in the real world. Honestly, the view from where I am, it looks to me all things are fake or have 2 side to a coin. Just discovered that what use to be a nice, clean boss that I knew turn out to be a fake. A chameleon which changes skin colour according to his superior or the jap dog. I had a lot of respect of him previously cause I find him to be decent and has a good clean image. He doesn't step on other people toe to moved up the ladder and is everybody favorite boss. I do not work under him and neither are other staff who give him 5 stars mark for excellent diplomatic skills and soft spoken voice.

Nevertheless, I recently found out that there is more to him that meets the eye. He speak fluent Japanese and has a prestigious master degree from a well known Tokyo university. No doubt his clean image is basically attributed from his soft spoken voice and mild manner. However, I find this to my dislike recently after getting to know him more and observing the move that he is making at the background. In my opinion he is now a fully certified jap dog. He has reached the stage where he is part and one of them. He no longer helps the locals nor understands the feelings and predicament of the staffs. He is more worry about losing his own ass and making sure his pay cheque comes on time every month. That's why life is very fake and misleading. You can be a jackass in the office where everybody hates you to the bone and then the next minute you reach home and pretend to be a naïve gentleman playing with his kids. It's such a huge contrast effect that people just don't realize and question themselves to know why this happen and why humanity had reach to this low level. Its sad and its reality of life again.

For me, I will try my best to distance myself from this type of moron. It's hazardous to be around them and it's definitely for your own good that you don't assimilate and become a moron yourself.

I got to tell you my weirdest and most awful experience. Not that I was any part of it but as an observer. It's really despicable and barbaric. With my own eyes, I saw a group of men and women fighting to get a few pieces of roasted chicken wings. It was like I was in Africa. Can you believe that!! No, you didn't hear me wrongly. Adults, auntie, men, women and kids all surrounding a tray of chicken wings, waiting for the indon waitress to bring it to the table. Everybody was surrounding the table with plate in hands and some with picker. As soon as the indon maid arrived, everybody was agitated and started to make a moved. However, the indon maid couldn't get near the table to put the tray and hence ask the people around to give way. Once she had laid the tray on to the table, within 5 seconds, all the chicken wings had been taken. Plate, picker and bared hands were used to grab as many chickens as they could. The most amusing and funniest scene of all was the indon maid. Once she had laid down the tray, she couldn't get out at all. She had to struggle and shout at everybody to let her squeeze out. Finally after some shoving and pushing she manages to set herself free. Then came the funniest moment. She shout out loud "Mana saya punya slipper"……which translated to "Where is my slipper?" She had lost her slipper in the mist of all the commotion…….. Wifey and me and the rest of the gang were laughing our socks off. This occurs every half an hour.

Aside from this Mr.Bean matter, I felt the owner should do something about it. It's not right for him to make a few chicken wings and treat all his customer like beggars. By right, he should make more chicken wings else make the distribution a fair and simple distribution. After all, everybody had pay for the buffet steamboat and hence he should at least have the decency to make some decent money and not quick money. Is this Malaysian Chinese culture from the ugly side? I was ashamed of seeing this happening in the city and in broad daylight. What is happening to Malaysia???

Heart Attacks & Drinking Warm Water

Heart Attacks and drinking Warm Water

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot green tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

Heart Attack

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and may lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send the link to a friend. It could save a life. So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

hiccups

I have this "invention" or so called self discovered remedy to cure hiccups. I have shared this with many people but not many of them are very serious nor believe in it. Most of the guys have too much pride to even admit that it works and to give me credit for it. I don't think the method is anything to shout about or to "patent" it. It's something I discovered through self observation and common sense thinking. I believe many people in this world had use and practice this one way or another.

Recently I taught this technique colleague of mind and after he try it seriously he too found it to work. Most of the time people find it silly and hence can't do it properly and thus brushed this method off. Nevertheless, if you have a really bad hiccup, why not give it a try. It works for me and a few of my friends.

Method/Technique: Take a deep breath and hold your breath as long as you can. The reason I do this is so that I can reset the respiratory system. Its simple and easy to perform but the trick of this solution is to really really hold your breath as long as you can just like when you are diving deep into the sea. If you don't manage to hold your breath and gave up easily then you don't feel the pain of losing breath and hence this method will fail. I am 100% sure about this and therefore it is imperative that you really hold your breath.

Keyword: Holding breath

My Take On A Journalist

Joceline Tan, not sure I got the name correctly or not but that's the writer/commentator from The Star who writes a political piece every weekend. To tell you honestly, I am no fan of her nor dislike her in anyway. To me she's just normal and your average Jane writer. Nevertheless, recently since I have gotten a knack for reading political blogs and cyber opinion space, I find her a little bit fake. I have been observing her article for the past whole month now and I feel she is a puppet or someone else's hand. Her article on mostly political issue pertaining to current affairs and etc are a bit bias and to me sound like standing on the side of the administration. If I wouldn't had know better, I think she's a G supporter and an anti opposition establishment. I had read her stories on her take on the IJOK by election, on Anwars party election, she sound so fake. I always thought journalist/writer are supposed to be neutral, to be impartial and to give all the facts to the reader to decide. I was wrong. In this 21st century era, journalist/writer are not so sacred and naïve anymore. They are after all, a worker and have to bring money home to feed the kids.

I was a bit disappointed and as well as sad that I found out the truth. If I hadn't read more online, search online and still sticking to just reading the local news media, I would had been con just like the few thousand people out there. Here I am attaching a few of her articles over here for your own judgment. Why would a young woman who has good potential writing skills letting this kind of thing get into her? I feel sorry for her and her boss. Worst part is, for many people who don't have access to the online world and are dependent on news media for information, they will buy her stories on face value just as I did many many years ago. Hence, no wondered G is not very supportive and going full steam to make internet cheaper and easier for the population. I guess they already know that if more information are easily obtain from the internet then nobody will ever believe in what they had to say. Its all political propaganda. So called "WAYANG KULIT".

Did you hear about this company? The biggest fraud, manipulation and auditing fiasco in our country history. Deceiving investors, authorities and the general public on the company financial status. It was found to have overstated some >RM500million of revenue. It had actually made a loss in 2005 and 2006 but then had a cosmetic makeover to reflect profit. Its was a headline news a couple of weeks now and so far I have not seen any action and whip being used. In fact, if my instinct is correct the whole issue is beginning to die a slow death and slowly disappearing from the whole scene. A Houdini act. Masterpiece I shall called it because it has all the right recipe and people connection and political spin.

A common sense question I would ask when I read the first case is

1.      Who compile and make the audited account for filing to Bursa Saham.

2.      Who signed the account book? Who were the independent directors? Who was the executive directors and etc involved in the book?

3.      The chairman – Mr.LLS knows about this? He can't said he don't cause it's the company financial declaration and what is his position and responsibility?

4.      Who is cracking the whip? Do the police get involved cause it might be a case of CBT's. Not in a million chances I feel.

5.      I don't hear any cry or voices from ACA (Anti-Corruption Agency) to offer their take on this? Elegant silent………….

Welcome to Malaysia. A place like no others. I t is cosy, friendly and with plenty of controversies, clowning and chaos happening all year round.

Efficiency or Under Utilised

I read this bit from one of my sister-in-law blog just the other day. Its happening to me too. I had been busy and almost over work in my entire stay with my present company. Nevertheless, since this new local guy transfer from another dept came, I had been having so much trouble. He lacks technical knowledge, shallow and totally useless. I never mind him being above me theoretically cause he was of no threat and I wasn't after his job. Nevertheless, I always clash with his decision because he doesn't understand the matter at hand and yet wanted to prove that he is the boss. You know those that know a little and yet pretend to know all.

What make matter worst was late last year we had an appraisal or was it a year before that. He say this and that and etc. I just ask him a few question and he couldn't answer me. Basic simple question. I ask him why I was not being promoted nor upgraded since I had done so much for the company and yet a person who is far less superior than me are able to get an automatic upgrade. Is it just because she is doing another more important model ? Was it her boss is somebody who is more superior than you ? zNeedless to say, at the end of it he didn't give me any answer and therefore I told him if that is the case I rather do minor job and hence just relax.

That wish was fulfilled. Since early this year, I wasn't given any model to be in charge of and I wasn't brief and told what was my responsoibility. It seem to me that he is either trying to push me out indirectly or he was trying to give the elder boss an impression that he is the one who is doing all the work. Unfortunately life is very amusing. He is going to be promoted to becoming a manager soon. I do not know what kind of KPI the Japanese bastard see or evaluate with. All they ever see is his broad smile and dumb smart cool face look. He is just a "YES" man and that's what he ever will be. Therefore whenever the company tries to talk KPI, appraisal or evaluation with me, I will let them know a piece of my mind. What kind of system are they trying to make when in fact the Jap are totally clueless and ignorant about it. They also don't bother about it cause they will be leaving for home every 5 years. They have no responsibility or whatsoever with regard to the local company. Jap are just as selfish as others.

Since then, whenever he gave me jobs to do, I have always completed it efficiently and without any question ask. Therefore there is no question here with regard to me not performing nor under performing. I had proven to be more than capable of leading people and in charge of making and seeing through the whole project single handily. I have proven to be efficient and cost conscious by winning the Managing Director's Award. I had proven to be an all rounder and participated as a team player as well in a few highly successful project that brought the company lots of profit. Its all there to be seen in my entire work record. My model and many years of project. I have live to done it all. Nevertheless, all this come to nothing and not appreciated. Hence, my disappointment with the management and the people who has the means to change and make all this wrong to right.

However, since all this are no fault of mine hence I cannot just lay back and do nothing to contribute to the demise of my brain cell. I need to exercise my brain power. Challenge my intellectual tinkering. Company does not appreciate me and hence are under utilizing me. A loss for the company and a gain for myself. It not my fault that I have a useless boss and who doesn't have a brain. The company should be asking why or who on earth gave the opportunity to this idiot to be promoted in the first place. Period.

Rakan Muda

Wanted to highlight this 2 days ago but kept forgetting about it. The other day live on MY national tele……saw our dear PM opening speech for this Rakan Muda youth program. He was not very enthusiastic nor very vibrant. He seems sleepy, dead and lifeless. He doesn't have the charisma nor the shine at all compare with our ex premier. There was nothing special to mention about him. I find his speech boring and I was wondering how on earth he is going to motivate all those youth who was there to see him and all those who was paid to participate in the official ceremony. He was talking about youth as the growth engine and ask everybody to join scout, red crescent and other clubs just like him when he was younger. The tone of his speech was like platonic…..monogamous and dull. Wondered whether anybody who listens to him felt motivated or not! I feel sorry for him in a way. Sorry cause I see him as a loser as a human being. It takes somebody special and outstanding to manage our country but here we are.....just getting an average grade dude.
