Income Tax

I want to talk about taxes today. This had been on my mind for quite some time. Lately there are a lot of residential area being barricaded, being gated-up and fence-up for so called security issue. Actually I have nothing against security matter but then again if these so called residential association are allowed to fence up their road at their whim and fancy, where does all this put the general public like you and me. Those road are public road. Service and maintenance are borne by tax payer money through land assessment, income tax and etc.

So I want to pose a very critical and relevant question. If these residential association are allowed to do what they want, then can I as a tax payer choose not to pay my taxes and assessment. The way I see it, is I am entitle to give my taxes where I want it. If public road can be taken “private” and barricaded and denying the general public from using it then what is there to prevent me from giving my taxes ? It is both relevant and pertinent. I am entitled to my right as well as the residential association.

Some of these resident association are reasonable while others are arrogant and bordering on exclusitivity. A case in point is some of these barricaded road are open from morning 6am till 12 midnight. The rest of the time it is close for security and crime prevention. I have no qualms with regard to this. However, those that think their houses are golf courses or exclusive enclave for their status elevation..........well, I have issue with them. If they want exclusive enclave then by all means please moved into a real golf course. If that road is maintain and service by the local council.....meaning the tar roads are being paid by tax payer then every citizen and people have a right to it.

Therefore, I am contemplating to making a protest note to my local council to ask them why I should pay my assessment and taxes.
