Curiosity, Thoughts and Whatever...

I have been going to my kid school to pick him up everyday for the past 3 mth. I usually get there early and most of the time I can observed many things. There are a diverse group of people waiting for their kids outside the gate. There are old, young, wealthy, poor, learned and blue collar workers……………you name it, its all there.

In the beginning I thought many parents that send their kids to vernacular school are usually weird, perhaps speak in their own mother tongue only. However, as I observed longer I notice a trend. Most are English educated and if not all….they are Christian. I make this point after hearing most of them talking about churches and activities and who's who and etc. I am surprised that the Christian community here in MY are very open and thus subjecting their kids to Chinese culture. The way I see things is most of the churches are very very propaganda and run as a business entity.

You see, I had sent my kids to an average kindergarten in my neighborhood which is run by a Christian group. Not sure which group already but when I enroll in that school they told me they have a diverse based of kids including Malays. They even assure me that they will be very liberal and would not force any kids to recite the bible or morning prayers etc. However after a few years, my kids can practically recite the morning prayer and whatever else "brain washing propaganda" that they have. I have no qualms with their system and etc but right from the very beginning I have insisted that every kids deserve their own right and freedom of choice. Thus I strongly put my point forward that my kids can opt out and observed what other kids are doing but not participate. I want to make sure my kids have a neutral view of religion and hence when they grow older they can have their own decision and choice to choose what they want to believe in.

Nevertheless, I am disappointed with the school. They never keep their words and I have found out more recently from my kids that the teacher are very very religious and in fact had some bible story telling and etc to spread their propaganda. Therefore I was very very piss off. I had a serious discussion with wifey about this. We know they is nothing we can do about it unless of course we launch an official complain to the education ministry with regard to their kindergarten licenses and their "illegal" activities. Wifey and I just don't understand why these Christian group can't leave the kids alone. Why do they have to propagate their religion in an unfair manner. Using underhand tactics and subjecting the vulnerable soul for their own objective.

Throughout my life and my own personal experience I gather that the Christian groups are very very well organized and are being run as a business corporation. They have a structure organization and everything are well planned and effectively implemented. Their success in organization skills thus gave them the advantage of expanding exponentially and spreading their wings wide and far. Now, I am happy for their success but using kids to spread their preaching…….can you imagine what an under 3 year old mind is like. It is fragile and easily manipulated. OK after all that you have been reading you must be wondering by now what does it got to do with the vernacular school etc. Now my question would be…….what does this Christian group or member feel like if suddenly we all have Buddhism or Taoist teaching in the vernacular school. Can we have something similar as them and can we ask them what would their opinion be like if this Christian kids started going to Buddhism class and etc ?

Can you find Buddhism being spread in the same way ? Do we have Buddhism run kindergarten and have morning chanting or praying in Buddhism style ? I don't think so. Can you find kindergarten run by Buddhism philosophy above a shop lot or a corner house or their own landed property as Christian organization ? I don't think so. Not here in MY but perhaps Taiwan or HK and etc. So for that matter, I have totally lost respect for Christian group. This has nothing to do with religion but peoples attitude and mentality. Most are helm by ignorant and distorted mind. They themselves had been subjected to the same organization and system while they were growing up. I must say the person who envision all this and propagated all this with the introduction of the organization and business concept is a visionary Christian. That I believe is what deserve my respect but not the "force" preaching which is barbaric and smack of discrimination of freedom.

For goodness sake, can't they see themselves in the mirror and have some self conscience?
